New User. May 20, 2015. #1. I've been trying to mix and grind with a NH 353. The auger that moves the minerals forward from the mineral box seems to be stuck and the sheer pin keeps shearing. I added the minerals and then engaged the pro to turn on the auger, which seems to have forced too much mineral in at once.

Subject: RE: How big is a NH 355 Feedmill. Jammed completely full of corn it will hold 4800#. An 80 hp 4010 will run it well, almost as fast as the corn will take corn. A 60 hp 2030 will run it but you have to feed it much slower. FYI NH quit making grinder mixers some time ago but so far I've been able to get the few parts I've needed.

If the HP is not adequate the solution is to meter the material being ground in at a low rate. However, if you get more material fed into the grinder than you have HP to power the load on the grinder will/can create problems. The load on the grinder will also over time do damage to the tractor in the PTO drive area.
